Elective is kind of a know-it-when-you-see-it thing but the IN or OUT guides below will be updated as I go to keep things consistent.

INCLUDE

• DVDs, books, playing cards and anything equally obvious
• cute stuff from the grocery store
• eating out to get away from the kitchen
• holiday decorations
• nonessential fitness expenses (extras)
• stuff for after my place is renovated
• adding to the Starbucks card

DON'T INCLUDE

• something bought to replace something broken or anything equally obvious
• candy from the grocery store
• eating out when home isn't an option or to take M out
• gifts for others (separate budget)
• pool fees and other essential fitness expenses
• stuff for projects already in progress
• using the Starbucks card

Avoid using the carry over option unless it's to buy a high $ item; then apply the carry over to last month and log it on this month as the true price less that amount.

Amounts are entered in cents but shown rounded to dollars since the screen is so small. Tax is optional; what­ever is easiest.
